How does one create Utopia?
The Creation of Utopia begins with you, the customer, your ideas your dream, your idea of perfection in your own custom outdoor living space.
The Process contains many steps from conception to completion;
1. Conception
In this step Don Reidy,Certified installer and owner of Utopia Hardscapes meets with a client to create a conceptual drawing based on the needs of the customer.
You may find yourself thinking, “What needs could I have, it’s just a patio? Isn’t it?” When dealing with hardscape it is never just a patio. It is an extension of your home and living space. During the conception phase we look at many different aspects of your outdoor living area, such as;
Use element, cooking habbits, proximity to kitchen, visual oppurtunities, local climate, natural elements, seating areas, design flow etc… These are all things that you should be thinking about so that you get the most out of your outdoor living space.
2. The Plan After a conceptual drawing is created the planning may begin. The planning stage can take anywhere from two weeks to 3 months and sometimes longer. In the planning phase we can start to develop an idea of what the completed project will look and feel like, based on the use elements that are added to the design we create, the colors and textures that the customer picks and how the natural landscape plays into it all. 3. The Quote
After we have figured out what it is we are going to do with your outdoor living space we can discuss pricing and options as well as oppurtunities for later addition and the costs involved with that.
This will also be the time when we set an approximate start and completion date based on material and personnel availability.
4. The Build
After the customer has accepted the quote, we begin to build. The build time will vary from job to job based on how much work there is to be done. The building procees will be explained in depth at the time of the quote. The process will also vary from project to project based on the needs of the customer and the materials selected.
5. Completion At this stage there is only one thing left to do and that is enjoy! |
